The festival of Purim commemorates the salvation of the Jewish people in ancient Persia from Haman. It is celebrated with reading Megillat Esther, festive food, charity, and joy.

In 2018, WJC launched a global #WeRemember campaign in memory of the victims of the Holocaust.

Chanukah is a eight-day, wintertime “Festival of Lights“. It commemorates rededication of Holy Temple in Jerusalem and the Maccabees Revolt.

Our community held a Torah scroll reception (Hachnasat Sefer Torah). It is important to say that this Torah wouldn´t be in Prague without a generous help from Tamar Newberger, wife of the former USA ambassador Andrew Shapiro, and a jewish organisation “Project Kesher“.
